Welcome to Herd the Whispers!
Whisper:
Lot name Lambert tag #771, Quarter horse gelding. Arrived to his final soft place December 4th 2022.
He was quickly named Whisper because everything about him was soft and gentle. Unfortunately for us we only had 17 wonderful days with him and 1 very hard day when we had to say goodbye but I wouldn’t give up that time for anything.
Whispers final days were filled with love and as much comfort as we could provide. He changed us forever. After his passing, through a lost friend horse site, we found out a lot about his past. He was actually born at Whispering Furs Racehorse Ranch in WA in 1990. He was 33 years old. I believe it was no accident in us naming him Whisper. We have since named our farm in honor of him by naming it, Herd The Whispers.
Honey:
Lot name Paige tag #132 (pic 1) arrived to her forever home on December 4th 2022 (pic 2).
All I could say when I met this sweet girl was, "Oh Honey" as I cried while brushing her. The name stuck.
Honey is a 22 year old gaited tabiono mare. She is a part of me. She loves the grandchildren and being groomed. She is not fond of apples but loves her cold carrots. She is also a magnet for burdock and seems to roll in every patch of it, especially if it is near a pile of dung. But I still love her.
We don't know anything about Honeys past but we sure are excited for her future with us. She is such a sweet blessing.
Hope:
17 year old grade bay quarter horse Mare 14.3 hands high arrived at Herd The Whispers in February 2024.
She came to us from a friend who needed to find a new home for her where she would have a job and kids to love on her. She came to us with the name Maddie which she had been given at the farm that she had been born on. After walking her all night and praying for her to make it through a tough bought of colic a few days after arriving to Herd The Whispers, we decided to call her Hope because there is nothing without Faith and Hope.
Hope has struggled to find her place in our small herd and tends to be very curious and precocious. She loves her food be it hay, grain, carrots or apples but she absolutely loves animal crackers that the children give her. She likes to boss the other horses around and chases any cat that comes near but she is very gentle with people, especially children.
Hero:
We were asked to take Hero when his family could no longer care for him. He is 33 - 35 years old.
In his younger years, Hero carried his riders through barrel racing and other rodeo events.
He is now living his best life just eating his senior mash, earning treats for being cute, and warming all of our hearts with his heartfelt whinnies.
Molly Moo Moo:
Molly is the newest member to our herd at about 6 months old. She was a gift to us from a friend. She came to us after her mom passed away.
Molly spends her day playing with Dusty and hanging out with her bestie, Faith.
She loves being groomed, head scratches and calling to us during morning chores.
Faith:
WOW JET BLACK 13 year old grade quarter horse Mare 14.3 hands high (pic 1) arrived to her forever home at Herd The Whispers on December 31st 2022 (pic 2).
We brought Faith home from a farm in Kentucky. Faith came to us at a time when our hearts were hurting from losing Whisper just days before. What Faith brought with her was healing. We were drawn to her because she looked so much like the horse that we dreamed of Whisper becoming.
Faith is a 13 year old black grade mare. She loves the grandchildren and being groomed. She can be a little bit of a diva at times because, after all, she is a princess. She loves carrots and likes to get all of the attention.
Dusty:
Lot name Tazo arrived to Herd the Whispers on May 20th 2025 .
We saw Dusty in a video at the same Kill Pen that Whisper and Honey came from. We couldn’t leave him there.
He came to us as a yearling. He is the sweetest boy. Honey took him under her wing. He was never far from Honeys side.
He is now a feisty 2 year old learning manners through groundwork and he is just the best in your pocket boy.
